It’s been another long and interesting week to say the least. I’ve been a little sleep deprived but last night I finally got a full nights sleep without waking up 6-8 times throughout the night. As of last week, I stared my “Friday Asides”, so here’s my list for this week:

1. Having haters in the workplace is so hilarious! Just b/c I do my job well and I’m barely in the office certain people find it necessary to whisper and gossip. I think my “Hi Haters” post it I left on my office door got a few laughs.

2. SBM, you think women confuse you?? Some of yall men are just ANOMALIES.

3. Went to the post office yesterday and the clerk asked if my hair was a weave…I don’t even get offended any more, especially after she made a point to say she’s jealous b/c she spent $200+ to get a weave similiar to mine…So I left her with some of my hair growth tips and she was quite amazed when I mentioned monistat.

4. I haven’t been watching the Olympics at all, I’m mainly interested in Track & Field so when that starts, it’ll have my undivided attention.

5. If you haven’t purchashed Janelle Monae’s cd, what are you waiting for??? Hopefully, Bad Boy will promote her properly…that’s a big HOPE. You can check out her blog here.

Have a great weekend! Be safe, doing whatever it is that you do! As always, feel free to share your own ‘asides’.

I was over at Single Black Male and left a comment which was a little of a rant/randomness. I haven’t been in the mood lately to do any writing of my own, so my comment I left on his blog, will actually be part of my blog for today. Bottom line is that I need motivation and pain medication. No, I’m not an abuser of prescription pills, but recently, I’ve been suffering from a lot of joint & muscle pain. It originally started out in my right hand a few months ago, but I chalked that up to carpal tunnel, but then a few weeks ago in San Diego, I started feeling pain in my right knee. The orthopedic surgeon I went to see basically told me that I injured my Patella, due to walking around in flip-flops so much. After I heard that, I knew it would put a dent into my biking regimen. So he gave me some anti-inflammatory meds and a knee brace to wear for a week. I’m figuring that would put an end to the pain, but recently I’ve been feeling pain in other parts of my body. My left hand, my neck and the lower parts of my legs. The first thing that automatically came to my mind was Lupus. Just another issue that’s prevalent on my father’s side of the family. So needless to say, I’m visiting an internist on Monday, so she can get down to the root of these issues.
In any event, here is the rest of my randomness/rant for today!
1. Sometimes while driving in the DC/MD area, I just want to yell out of my window, “MERGE, BITCH! MERGE!”

2. So an ex recently ‘googled’ himself and found some information about himself on my blog (I put his name out their purposefully), it’s the same information that the ‘other woman’ found and contacted me about him…needless to say after speaking to her for about 5 hrs the other week, I will never understand why some women attack the ‘other woman’…This woman was the missing piece to my puzzle and I appreciate her so much! As far as his grimy ass, I ain’t taking shit down.
3. If another person asks to touch my hair one more time this week, they’re going to draw back a nub!

4. I think I hate my sister. She’s one of the most trifling women I know. Doesn’t give a shit about her son. I came across someone who knew her and I mentioned her son, and he was basically like, “Wow, I didn’t know she had a kid”, and this was AFTER they’ve known each other for about 6 months. “Flowers in the Attic” much?

5. I’m craving WHITE CASTLE. No, not the frozen ones you buy from the grocery store. But the ones I can get from any location in the NYC/NJ area. I might have to make the 3 1/2 hr trek back home this weekend just for a sack. I’m craving the wave!
6. I finally came across a genuinely nice man. He’s a little bit older than what I normally like (40). He falls right into my recent pattern of military men (I guess being surrounded by so many military bases, a pattern is bound to form) ohh so handsome, BUT, he talks to damn much about his job! I swear the first 45 minutes of our convo each day is about work. Eventually I tune out and all I hear is the teacher from the Peanuts cartoons, “Wok wok, wok, wok…wok wok”…Every few minutes I usually throw in a , “Wow, really?”.
7. I’ve been in the DC/MD area for about 5 yrs now, and I can honestly say, I still hate it. If it wasn’t for my job, I wouldn’t be here. I’ve never come across so many pretentious people in my whole entire life.

First and foremost, I must say, “GO CELTICS”! Last nights game was unbelievable, I was jumping up and down (knee brace and all) at the remarkable come back. That man —–>>>> right there DESERVES a championship and hopefully it will be this year. It’s going to take a lot for the Lakers to comeback from a 3-1 run, but anything can happen I guess. The Los Angeles Kobers, I mean Lakers (sometimes with the Kobe commentary I forget they’re actually a TEAM) definitely didn’t see that loss coming, I’m sure!
  • It’s funny when I talk to certain friends of mine and I happen to mention something that I’ve written about on this blog and they’ll say, “Oh yeah, I read that…”. Last night I got on two of my good friends, Pele & Carla (yeah I called yall out), b/c they’re known lurkers. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to see it, does it make a sound? It’s the same thing as reading something I wrote, and not commenting, but you mention it after the fact. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I don’t mind the anonymous lurkers, but when I speak to someone up to 3/4 times a day, it’s a little bit different!
  • So Barack has a “Baby Mama”? I swear Fox news is getting more ridiculous by the moment.
  • My knee is starting to finally feel better. All I can say is, NO MORE FLIP-FLOPS for me!
  • My job notified me that our office is relocating to Largo, don’t these people realize that they hardly see me in the office and I only live 10 min. from it, but now they want to move it about 30 more minutes away. They’re going to have to give me a really good reason to even think about coming into work now. With gas prices the way they are anything over a 15 min. drive is way to far for me!
  • I found out yesterday that a former associate of mine told his ex-girlfriend, who is now a pretty good friend, that we ‘hooked’ up a while back. Immediately the taste of vomit was in my mouth! You ain’t got to lie, Craig! Kissing you would have been like kissing a 1000 ashtrays and philly blunts! Die a slow death, mf’er! As Diddy would say, that was 100% “BITCHASSNESS”!
  • My brother brings his new born baby over my house the other day. I looked, squinted, stared, all I have to say is, “Where’s Maury Povich when you need him?”.
  • Schools out for summer, it’s only been 4 days since my son has been home. His camp doesn’t start until the 23rd, and he doesn’t leave for Colorado until the 2nd week in July, I NEED ANOTHER VACATION, STAT! So far this week, we’ve sat in the ER so he could get his first set of stitches, he almost kicked the dr. in the mouth b/c of the pain from the needle. If I hear, “Mommy, what’s for breakfast?” one more time I’m going to scream! He’s practically destroyed my brand new bike, the repairs will cost more than what I paid for bike I’m sure!

The weekend is finally here, thankfully. There’s an Alicia Keys concert that I’ve been invited to, so that should be interesting. I can’t say that I was ever a die hard, I gotta get a ticket fan, but you can’t look a gift horse in the mouth! Plus, I’m looking forward to spending time with the person who invited me. I received a challenge from a friend of mine last night. He says I’m too attached to my cell phone and he doesn’t’ think I can go a weekend without it. At 4pm this afternoon, the cell phone will be officially “OFF”. At 4:30 pm, I’m sure it’ll be back on! Sorry, there are some things I just can’t cope without having!

Have you ever been in a bad mood and you just can’t shake it off of you, no matter how hard you try? Well for the past week, I’ve been in one of those moods. I’m not sure if it’s the dreary weather that’s getting to me, the lack of motivation that I’ve been dealing with on the job or just the recent turns my life has made in regards to relationships with people that have recently soured. Oh and let me not forget the fact that I’m currently nursing a sty on my eye, that doesn’t want to seem to go away (ouch) and my menstrual cycle is having me feel like Niagara Falls! Yeah, TMI, I’m sure.

Anywho, I feel a vacation coming on SOON. I need to feel the sun, I need to fill in these left over tan lines from my trip to Puerto Rico back in February. I just need to get away from the MD/DC area, STAT! I’m going to try to have patience because I do have a trip to San Diego coming up at the end of May, but there’s no time like the present.

Maybe by Monday, I’ll be in a better mood. Maybe by Monday, I’ll have caught up on the hours of sleep that I’ve missed out on because I haven’t been able to shut down at night. Maybe by Monday, I’ll be done with giving a damn about the actions of people that I have no control over.

Who knows, but I know one thing that’s for sure, there’s a bottle of wine with my name on it, this weekend.

Not for nothing, but this week as been filled with procrastination for me. I think I made it into the office 2xs this week, so I figured why break the cycle? Today, I’m going to spend it shopping and running errands with my little sister , because today is her birthday!

Twenty six years ago my parents brought home this crying baby, all I could think was, ‘damn, another one’. I already gave up my hopes on being the only child after my first sister was born (LOL!). During her teen years, she proclaimed herself to be “The Baddest Bitch”, and that attitude as stuck with her ever since. People dare not to cross her, or they’ll have to feel her wrath. I remember as kids, when my mother would leave the house, it would be Battle Rumble between my two sisters and I. Fight after fight after fight, and we dared one another to say anything to our mother. My poor little brother would just look at us like we were crazy. Whatever weapon we could get our hands on, it was no holds barred. Broomsticks. Sticks. Bats. Shoes. Curtain Rods. You name it, we used. Till this day, we still get a laugh out of our fights and arguments. I guess that happens when you have so many hormones flowing through one house!

One saying I had growing up was that I didn’t give a “FLYING FUCK”. If someone shared a different opinion, it was always me saying, “I don’t give a flying fuck”. I definitely had somewhat of a trash mouth, but I never brought it home, b/c I knew what the consequences were.

In honor of Friday, I’m proclaiming it today on my blog, “Flying Fuck Fridays”! There are a few things going on in the world/life/etc..etc..that I could give a “FLYING FUCK” about, and I’m sure there are a few people out there who feel the same. So feel free to get your “FLYING FUCKS” off your chest!

Here are a few of mine:

  • I don’t give a FLYING FUCK about Mike Vick, those people who are out there all up in arms over Mike Vick, let me see you giving as much attention on Sept. 20, when the JENA 6 March occurs!

  • I don’t give a FLYING FUCK about some missing little white kid in Portugal, when there was a local BLACK college student who went missing in my area, and there were only 2 news reports about HIM. Days after he went missing they finally reported it, then a proper search by the County Police WASN”T done, because if it was, he would have been found in the ditch were a random person driving down the highway found him!

  • Britney, Britney, Britney! I don’t give a FLYING FUCK about her & her issues or her funny looking kids! It’s always the people who have the most resources who are ‘eff’d up in the head!

Lastly,

  • I don’t give a FLYING FUCK about football! LMAO!

Happy Flying Fuck Fridays!
