I know it’s been a while since we’ve actually spoken. I think the last communication between us, was via your Myspace page when you referred to me as a “place holder” in your life. You sent me an email, but then of course you prevented me from responding to it because you blocked me. Not a big deal of course to me, because at that point, I was prepared to go on with my life. Words never hurt me.

So now, several months later, for some reason I can’t help to feel that you’re stalking my thoughts. Of course the internet is free for anyone to roam, but usually when people say they don’t want to have anything to do with someone any more, it means all types of communication are severed. Why would you care to know what’s going on in my life? Oh, but of course, I’m sure you got an eye full from my post from a few days ago, that was subsequently deleted. So by now, you know that my relationship ended. Did that put a smile on your face to read that? You also know that I’ve had issues with my health recently. I bet you shook your head and said, “That’s what you get”, because usually that’s how asses respond to other people’s misfortune.

Yesterday, I wrote that I wasn’t going to include TMI in my posts. When people who personally know me read that, they were a little shocked, because it’s not like I put too much of myself out there like that anyways. So, no, I’m not going to censor my thoughts or my writing just because you or anyone else who I may know personally will read it.

Friends. Family. Foe.

It’s really not that serious. So keep on reading, hopefully you’ll subscribe to it. Just add your email address to the feedburner box to the right of your screen. I’m not sure if you attempted to do that yesterday when you clicked it, or if that was what you were trying to do when you emailed my post, but I figure I’d help you out. Also, if there’s any other recent information you may want to just google me (btw, google the name ‘funkyblackchick’ instead of ‘funky black chick’ like you did before- you’ll yield better results) or sign up for my Twitter updates since you managed to read those as well!

Yours truly,

A TMI Moment

Yesterday, I think I had a TMI (too much information) moment in regards to what I posted. Thank god for the *delete* option. My writing to me is a form of venting, but I think for now on I’m going to be a little more aware of what I’m venting and WHO could possibly be reading it. In any event, there will be a little less TMI going on around here in the future. It’s sad that certain people (well actually just one person) will take information and run with it. But I guess that’s human nature.

It’s amazing that during any given day my site receives upwards of 200+ visits (which is in no comparison to some sites that receive upwards of 5K visits a day). They literally come from everywhere, but mainly through other blogs that have me listed on their page and from Technorati. What amazes me is that people hardly ever let it be known that they visit.

Every so often I’ll receive a comment here & there. When I had my email address displayed in my profile I would receive a random email as well. I think I’m going to start a “Lurkers Anonymous” group, for those people who lurk.

You can now raise your hand and repeat after me, “I am a lurker”.

I used to be a lurker as well on some of my favorite blog sites. One of my favorite sites that I lurked on was, The Field-Negro’s blog. I don’t even remember when or on what post I made a comment on but I guess that officially put an end to my lurking there.

Now, I’m not going to say that there’s anything wrong with lurking, but I do enjoy interacting with those who happen to come across my blog. A while ago someone sent me an email saying that they’ve been reading my blog since I started it, late last year, but they didn’t want to put their name in a comment. Well voila, a simple solution to that is to remain “anonymous” when you do post a comment.

In any event, I definitely appreciate those who come across my blog, especially the ones from Afrobella, which is one my favorite blogs when it comes to fashion and beauty. There’s no pressure at all to delurk yourself, but don’t ever be afraid to comment or say “HI”! If lurking is still your preferences, here’s a short list of blogs that are definitely “lurk” worthy!

  • The View From Here- This group of women based out of the DC area definitely will give you something to think about!
  • Afrobella- Everything beauty and fashion with a touch of culture and style!
  • The Field-Negro- This man definitely isn’t afraid to share his opinion about the state of the government and those who run it. He proclaims he’s hasn’t had a sip of the Obama-Aid, but he definitely isn’t sipping on Hilary-Aid either.
  • Conversate Is Not A Word- Yes people CONVERSATE is NOT a word!

(Stands up and looks around)

Hello, I’m Funkyblackchick. and I’m addicted to GOOGLE!

I have this bad habit of google’ing people. I guess it’s just a part of my inquisitive nature (nosey has such a negative connotation). I started this back in my last job when I would interview people & check their references. Occasionally, information wouldn’t pan out, so I would google their names and/or email addresses and it was always amazing what would pop up. So now, when I meet someone, I always make a mental to note to google them and I’m always amazed at what I find. (To my friend in Wisconsin, all I can say is wow!! Donkeys???)

What’s even more interesting is how people come across my page. Yes, you (wait, don’t go just yet….lol)! Thanks to feedburner & feedjit I’m able to tell what people (yes, you again) were searching for to have came across my page.

Now, if I ever thought there were some interesting people in the world, my search results solidify it. Who would have known that on a daily basis people are searching for:

  • Strap-ons
  • Bleached Pubes
  • All Dogs Go To Heaven
  • Frank Lucas ran Newark
  • Listen to Helen Keller
  • Blow Jobs

According to my page statistics, out of the 1,000+ searches my blog has appeared in, “Strap-ons”, is the number #1 search source. Who would have thunk it?

In any event, whether you’re searching for strap-ons, wondering if dogs actually go to heaven, looking for an article about Helen Keller or wondering why your pubes are white, thanks for stopping by!

Btw, Google is a revolution. When was the last time you heard, “I’m going to Yahoo it”?
